As a collective community of faith, we will learn first to read God’s Word in a way that brings all the characters, stories, and genres together so that we can better understand what God has revealed to us about Himself and His plan for His people. This first phase of our journey is happening through a study in George Guthries’ book, Read the Bible for Life. (Click here to view a trailer about the book. …) We meet every Sunday night in October and November, 6pm, at the gathering place of Northbrook for video instruction and small group interaction.
The second phase of our journey begins in January and will take us through the entire year of 2011. We will read through the Bible together with help from a Reader’s Guide to the Bible. Hear messages preached through it each Sunday. And study it with others in small groups. Our goal is not just to become more biblically literate, but to become more transformed in the image of Jesus, and to live out the life He has called us to.
Due to copyright restrictions, the Readers Guide is available for Northbrook members only. Small group guides will be available here to anyone participating in our study.
